To celebrate 20 years of the Idler, we have brought together over fifty interviews from the vaults into a bumper conversations issue: Free Spirits.
It’s an impressive list of free thinkers and radicals, and includes interviews with Terence McKenna, Will Self, Richard Linklater, Charles Handy, Penny Rimbaud, Bez, John Cooper Clarke, John Gray, David Hockney, Bill Drummond, Barbara Ehrenreich, Jeffrey Bernard, Bruce Reynolds and Damien Hirst.
We also reproduce a clutch of brilliant interviews by Louis Theroux, who met David Soul, Bill Oddie, Colin Wilson and the Real Kramer for the Idler. There’s also Alan Moore by Jonathan Ross, and David Nobbs by Jonathan Coe.
