Daniel Post, an ex-police officer burdened with family tragedy, is forced into a partnership with his old friend, a private investigator with a violent reputation.
Struggling with alcoholism and an addiction to painkillers, Daniel takes a seemingly routine case from the beautiful Alisa Bohm, but he begins to connect current events to the old case that pushed him towards the bottle. As he digs deeper, the painful memories of Daniel's past and newly found love threaten to open old wounds.
